Uncommon and unusually marked, this stunning American species is found near the Rio Grande River in Texas and Northern Mexico. This species is desired by both beginner and experienced keepers due to it's unique markings, hardiness & rarity in the hobby. A long-lived species the females are known to sometimes live in excess of 30 years.
Recommended enclosure: A 4x4x6" Terrestrial Kit w/Magnetic Lock or 4x4x5” Terrestrial w/Classic Porthole. Either would make a great enclosure for this specimen until it’s large enough for a 7x7x11” Terrestrial Enclosure Kit or 8x8x14" Terrestrial Enclosure Kit.
Currently feeding on: Medium B. lateralis.

The A. moderatum male I got from Jamie's is a really attractive spider. The dark accents make the Rio Grande Gold stand out. Jamie's tarantulas are always high quality, healthy, and beautiful specimens. Jamie is well respected in the hobby and her expertise and professionalism shine through. I've ordered 7 Ts so far, and all of them are top quality.
The male i got is docile and easy to take care of (make sure to check Jamie's care info). I see him out and about his enclosure on the regular. Hopefully I'll get a female in the future.
Shipping was on point and customer service was A+++
Always a pleasure buying from Jamie's Ts!!
